Terms of service
Plain-English terms for websites, Google Business Profile setup, domains and the monthly Care plan.
DRAFT, not yet reviewed. These terms are a working draft and have not been checked by a lawyer. They are not legal advice. Nothing in them limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Last updated 29 October 2026.
1. Who we are
Northside Tradie Sites is a business run by Sean Watkins, a sole trader (ABN 76 813 986 943), Campbellfield VIC 3061, [email protected]. In these terms, “I” and “me” mean Sean Watkins trading as Northside Tradie Sites. “You” means the business that signs up, and the person who accepts these terms for it.
2. What I'll do
After you approve your free demo and complete the sign-up form, I'll deliver the package you chose:
- Starter site: a one-page mobile website.
- Standard site: a website of up to 4 pages (home, services, areas, contact).
- Google Business Profile Setup (included with Starter and Standard, or on its own): an audit of your profile, categories, services and description, a photo list, 5 posts and review-reply templates.
- Your first year's .com.au domain (see section 7), with the site connected to it.
- The Care plan (see section 4).
The demo is free and carries no obligation. Anything outside your package, such as extra pages, an online shop, photography or copywriting, is extra and quoted separately.
3. Price and payment
- You pay once by card through Stripe when you sign up. That single payment covers the build fee and your first month of the Care plan. After that, the Care plan renews monthly by card automatically.
- Build fees: Starter $349, Standard $549. Care plan: $39 a month (Starter) or $59 a month (Standard). Add-ons are shown in section 6.
- All prices are in Australian dollars. No GST is charged because I am not registered for GST.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe. I don't see or store your card details.
- If a monthly payment fails, I'll tell you and you'll have 14 days to fix it. If it stays unpaid after that, I may pause the website until it's paid.
4. Care plan
- The Care plan covers hosting, SSL (the padlock), up to 30 minutes of edits a month, one Google post a month and review-reply drafts.
- It is month to month. Either of us can cancel with 30 days' written notice (email is fine). There is no cancellation fee.
- Unused edit time doesn't roll over. If you need more edits than the monthly allowance, I'll quote them before I do them.
- While the Care plan is active, it covers the renewal cost of your .com.au domain each year.
5. Rent option
If you choose the Rent option, there is no build fee and you pay $79 a month, which includes hosting and the Care plan benefits. It has a 3 month minimum. After the minimum, 30 days' notice applies, as with the Care plan. If you cancel during the first 3 months, the remaining months up to the minimum are still payable. If you leave, I'll hand over your domain, your content (logo, photos and text) and remove myself from your Google Business Profile as in section 11.
6. Add-ons
- Online bookings setup, $99 (one-off setup fee): I set up a free booking calendar, such as Cal.com or a Google Calendar booking page, and embed it on your site.
- Online payments setup, $99 (one-off setup fee): I add Stripe payment buttons to your site. You open your own free Stripe account. Stripe's fees on payments you take are your responsibility.
- These are setup fees only. Third-party tools can change their free plans, features or prices, and I'm not responsible for that.
7. Your domain
- First year included. The first year of your .com.au domain is included in the build fee. I register it through my registrar account.
- You are the registrant and owner. The domain is registered in your business name with your ABN. I never register it in my own name for you.
- I act as your agent. By accepting these terms you authorise me to apply for, register, renew and manage the .au domain licence on your behalf as your agent. You confirm I am allowed to bind you to the registrar's registrant agreement and the .au Domain Administration Rules (auDA rules) for that purpose.
- Eligibility. You confirm that the business name and ABN you give me are correct and that you are eligible to hold a .com.au domain. The domain name must match your business or trading name, or a service you provide. If your first choice doesn't meet that rule, or isn't available, I'll suggest a .au (or another name) with you.
- Public details. Under auDA rules, some registrant details may be visible in public domain records, and privacy or proxy services can't be used for .au domains. The registrant contact will be you.
- Keeping your details up to date. Tell me within 14 days if your business name, ABN or contact details change.
- Renewals. The Care plan covers the renewal cost (currently about $23 a year) while it's active. Renewal prices are set by the registrar and may change.
- If you leave. You can ask for your domain's auth code (transfer code) at any time. I'll send it to you, free of charge, and you can move the domain to any registrar. If you cancel the Care plan but keep the domain with me, you'll need to pay the renewal when it falls due, or transfer it away before then.
- I won't hold your domain hostage. I will not refuse or delay a domain transfer, or charge a fee for one.
8. Your responsibilities
- You give me accurate information: business details, services, suburbs, photos, logos and licence or insurance details (if you want them shown). You confirm you own, or have permission to use, everything you send me.
- You check and approve the demo and the final site. Mistakes in content you approved are yours to correct, but I'll help fix them.
- You keep your Google Business Profile in your own name and add me as a manager so I can work on it. You won't ask me to post fake reviews, and I won't.
- You reply to my requests within a reasonable time. If I'm waiting on you for more than 30 days, I may pause the project.
9. Revisions and edits
Two rounds of revisions are included on the build, and I'll make edits for 14 days after launch. A round means one consolidated list of changes. After that, the Care plan's monthly edit allowance applies. A big change of direction after you've approved the site may be quoted separately.
10. Ownership
- You own your domain, your business name, logo, photos and the text you supplied, and your Google Business Profile.
- Once you've paid for the build, you own the website content made for you. I keep ownership of my own tools, code templates and general know-how.
- I may use a small, non-identifying screenshot in my portfolio unless you tell me not to.
- I can export your site's files on request while you're up to date with payments.
11. Cancelling and refunds
- Care plan: cancel any time with 30 days' written notice. No fee.
- Before launch: if you cancel before your site launches, I'll refund the build fee, less (a) any domain registration or add-on cost already paid out for you and (b) a fair charge for work done beyond the free demo, which I'll tell you in writing before I deduct anything. If I cancel, I'll refund the part of the build fee for work I haven't done.
- After launch: the build fee is not refundable once the site has launched, except where the law says otherwise.
- When you cancel: I'll hand over your site files, content and domain transfer code, and remove myself from your Google Business Profile, within 7 business days. Your site may be taken offline at the end of the notice period.
- Australian Consumer Law: you may be entitled to a remedy, including a refund, if a service isn't delivered with due care and skill or isn't fit for the purpose we agreed. These terms don't limit those rights.
12. What I don't promise
I can't guarantee Google rankings, website traffic, or any number of enquiries or jobs. Results depend on things outside my control. I use AI tools to help build your site, and I check the work myself before it's delivered. Google and Google Maps are trademarks of Google LLC, and I'm not affiliated with Google.
13. Liability
To the extent the law allows, my total liability to you is limited to the fees you've paid me in the previous 12 months, and I'm not liable for lost profits or indirect losses. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded and are not affected.
14. Privacy
I only use your information to do this work, run your account and contact you about it. I don't sell it. Your details, including your ABN, are shared with my domain registrar and payment provider only as needed to register your domain and take payment, and as the auDA rules require. Form answers and uploads are handled by the form services I use to receive them. Ask me any time to delete what I hold about you, apart from records I must keep for tax. See also the privacy and unsubscribe page.
15. General
This is the whole agreement between us. Changes must be agreed in writing (email is fine). Victorian law applies. By ticking the agreement box on the sign-up form and paying, you accept these terms. A short summary of them is shown on the form, but if the summary and these terms differ, these terms apply.
Draft note for review: the Rent option wording (section 5), the pre-launch cancellation charge (section 11) and the auDA agent wording (section 7) should be checked by a lawyer or a community legal centre before these terms are relied on.
